Texas has specific laws governing how dark your window tint can be. Here's everything you need to know — and how Sleepr Studio ensures every install is legal.
| Window | Minimum VLT | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Windshield | 25% top strip only | Tint allowed only on top 5 inches (AS-1 line) |
| Front Side Windows | 25% VLT minimum | Must allow at least 25% light through |
| Rear Side Windows | Any darkness | No restriction if vehicle has outside mirrors |
| Rear Window | Any darkness | No restriction if vehicle has outside mirrors |
Texas law measures VLT through the combined glass and film. Factory glass already blocks some light, so the film VLT needs to account for this. We always measure and install to ensure the final combined VLT meets the 25% minimum on front windows.
VLT stands for Visible Light Transmission — the percentage of visible light that passes through the window film. Lower VLT = darker tint.
Every Sleepr Studio tint install is within Texas legal limits. We handle the compliance — you just pick the darkness level you want.
